If Trond Nesheim had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 9th minute, Nicasio Tiso fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Jon-Arne Sørdal, passed just outside the right post. Nicasio Tiso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Zalgiris's Jon-Arne Sørdal proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 16th minute of the match, managed to save Zalgiris from getting a goal against them. 20 minutes into the match, Zalgiris's goal looked a bit too open when Jon Englund came free, but Jon-Arne Sørdal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 21 minutes into the match, Trond Nesheim notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Zalgiris's Jon-Arne Sørdal. Jon-Arne Sørdal was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Jon-Arne Sørdal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Trond Nesheim, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. Nicasio Tiso recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 28th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Espen Bugten's late challenge caught a Vasstrand's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Espen Bugten helped the player get up and apologised. After 31 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Zalgiris! If Nicasio Tiso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Samuel Blystad to make the kick off. In the 53rd minute, Stian Høines hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Trond Nesheim's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jon-Arne Sørdal read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 55th minute of play. Radostin Perduhov received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Jon-Arne Sørdal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Vasstrand getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Jan-Kenneth Andersen hit a great ball. 62 minutes into the match, Vasstrand's goalkeeper Martin Fuglestad had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Egil Tvete. In the 81stth minute of the game Trond Nesheim who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Zalgiris's Jon-Arne Sørdal was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Nicasio Tiso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Tor-Kristian Storli fell near the penalty area in the 87th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Vasstrand's protests and gave Tor-Kristian Storli a yellow card for diving instead. Egil Tvete received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Martin Fuglestad tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Vasstrand's Trond Nesheim in the 92nd minute got a chance for a shot 92nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Zalgiris's goalie prevented a goal. Radostin Perduhov struck a weak shot in the 93rd minute. Jon-Arne Sørdal didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vasstrand. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Vasstrand fully deserved thier win.
