After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Preben Engelstad managed to get in a good position for a shot. Evjen's supporters rose to their feet, but Preben Engelstad was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cato Bu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Niklas Nome in the 26th minute of play forced Evjen's goalkeeper Jonathan Mathiesen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Niklas Nome took the ball and in the 33 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jonathan Mathiesen. Jonathan Mathiesen dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Sturle Hannisdal hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. If Eilert Torvund had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Preben Engelstad stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Niklas Nome in the 63rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jonathan Mathiesen saved Evjen from getting behind. The Grvmyr fans' excitement grew in the 65th match minute when Grvmyr's Niklas Nome looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 80 minutes into the match, Eilert Torvund notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Grvmyr's Cato Bu. Cato Bu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After some careless play in the Grvmyr defense, Christer Eidsvåg kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Cato Bu. The Grvmyr fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cato Bu should have stopped the shot.
