Kristen Sletner tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 5 minutes into the match, Kavåsen FF's goal looked a bit too open when Hauk Rostad came free, but Brede Hassel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A hard shot 6 in the game by Kjetil Nesvik from a close distance when the talented Brede Hassel managed to make a qualified save. Kavåsen FF's players were relieved. In the 7th minute, Halvard Eikenes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Hauk Rostad in the 9th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Brede Hassel prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Svein Høie sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 19 played minutes Bergseid FF got a freekick which was hit by Ludvik Bævre. Ludvik Bævre kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. Audun Elnes was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 22nd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Kjetil Nesvik who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 34thth minute tested the skills of Brede Hassel when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Kjetil Nesvik could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 38th minute of the match, but Brede Hassel made a huge save. Svein Høie sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kjetil Nesvik recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 46th minute Hauk Rostad shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Brede Hassel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Brede Hassel stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Hauk Rostad's shot from short distance in the 52nd minute. If Hauk Rostad had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 60 played minutes Kavåsen FF got a freekick which was hit by Markus Myrseth. Eric Grønning fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kristen Sletner having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hauk Rostad in the 66th minute of play forced Kavåsen FF's goalkeeper Brede Hassel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Bergseid FF booed when Kavåsen FF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eric Grønning didn't get a good kick on the ball. Kjetil Nesvik took the ball and in the 73 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Brede Hassel. Brede Hassel dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. When Eric Grønning fell near the penalty area in the 76th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Kavåsen FF's protests and gave Eric Grønning a yellow card for diving instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 78th minute, Kjetil Nesvik managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bergseid FF's supporters rose to their feet, but Kjetil Nesvik was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Brede Hassel breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 79th match minute, Kavåsen FF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alexander Stensland to maneuver through the defense. 80 minutes into the match, Kavåsen FF's goal looked a bit too open when Hauk Rostad came free, but Brede Hassel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Brede Hassel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kjetil Nesvik, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Bergseid FF fans cheered their team off the field, for while Kavåsen FF had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
