Bjørkeåsen IF's Terje Solbakk played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wilhelm Nilsson in the 8th minute of play. In the 14th minute, Kristen Vestbø made a precise shot to the right of Sture Mikaelsen. Værøy IL's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Sture Mikaelsen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kristen Vestbø, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. 24 minutes into the game, Værøy IL's Ask Nesbø nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Terje Solbakk made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. After some careless play in the Bjørkeåsen IF defense, Vidar Eek kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Terje Solbakk. The Bjørkeåsen IF fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Terje Solbakk should have stopped the shot. Terje Solbakk made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wilhelm Nilsson in the 36th minute of play. After 38 played minutes Værøy IL got a freekick which was hit by Lennart Østensen. In the 39th minute of the match Håvard Hasle sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Sture Mikaelsen skillfully saved the ball. Wilhelm Nilsson could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 40th minute of the match, but Terje Solbakk made a huge save. The supporters of Værøy IL booed when Bjørkeåsen IF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adrian Johanssen didn't get a good kick on the ball. Wilhelm Nilsson took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 47th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Terje Solbakk. Bjørkeåsen IF's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. With a little luck, Bjørkeåsen IF's Terje Solbakk got control of the ball when Vidar Eek tried to sneak it across the goal line.

The wind increased when Håvard Hasle made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Theodor Langaas in the 52nd minute of play forced Bjørkeåsen IF's goalkeeper Terje Solbakk to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 52nd minute, Theodor Langaas ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Terje Solbakk was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-1. In the 54th minute, Wilhelm Nilsson made a precise shot to the right of Terje Solbakk. Bjørkeåsen IF's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 6-1. In the 64th minute, Sven Wiggen reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Sture Mikaelsen. The goal made the score 6-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vidar Eek in the 69th minute of play forced Bjørkeåsen IF's goalkeeper Terje Solbakk to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 76th match minute, Værøy IL was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vidar Eek to maneuver through the defense. Kristen Vestbø hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. In the 79th minute Ask Nesbø shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Terje Solbakk saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 82 played minutes Bjørkeåsen IF got a freekick which was hit by Roar Johnson. Terje Solbakk came out of the goal in the 83rd minute to try and stop a shot by Værøy IL's Kenneth Nærland. But to his dismay, Kenneth Nærland quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 7-2. After a rather tough play, Bjørkeåsen IF's Sven Wiggen got a free kick in the 85th minute. 87 minutes into the match, Bjørkeåsen IF's goal looked a bit too open when Ask Nesbø came free, but Terje Solbakk reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Værøy IL had won after a very even match.
