Wilhelm Nilsson could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 40th minute of the match, but Kjartan Fagervold made a huge save. Kjartan Fagervold was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 42nd minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Wilhelm Nilsson. Sture Mikaelsen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Torbjørn Opland in the 45th minute of play. 48 minutes into the match, Værøy IL's goal looked a bit too open when Torbjørn Opland came free, but Sture Mikaelsen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ask Nesbø to make the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Værøy IL's zone, Eilif Lindås stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sture Mikaelsen came out of the goal and Eilif Lindås tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Kjartan Fagervold took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wilhelm Nilsson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Kjartan Fagervold showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wilhelm Nilsson in the 54th minute of the match. 55 minutes into the game, Værøy IL's Vidar Eek nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Kjartan Fagervold made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. Kjartan Fagervold made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vidar Eek in the 58th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Vikavågen FK's Inge Fløysvik slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Sture Mikaelsen. That made the score 3-1 after 88 minutes of play. Kjartan Fagervold showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ask Nesbø, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute.
