When the match had been going on for 23 minutes, Porto's Carl-Rune Singh got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Runar Myrhaug. After a defensive mix-up in Tømmeråsfjorden's zone, Jan Honningsvåg stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Runar Myrhaug came out of the goal and Jan Honningsvåg tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Runar Myrhaug made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jan Honningsvåg in the 34th minute. Preben Riis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Runar Myrhaug tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tømmeråsfjorden's Runar Myrhaug played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Preben Riis in the 37th minute of play. Runar Myrhaug made a fantastic save in the 43rd minute, when Jan Honningsvåg sent off a good shot on target. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.
