An unexpectedly hard shot by Odin Nymo in the 3rd minute of play forced Normanseng's goalkeeper Ruben Nordhaug to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sæter's Daniel Vetrhus played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Espen Monge in the 5th minute of play. After 6 minutes, Gaute Kalland mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sæter and the Normanseng players grew even worse after the yellow card. Daniel Vetrhus showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Karl Karlstad, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. Odin Nymo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ruben Nordhaug read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 16th minute of play. Karl Karlstad fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Daniel Vetrhus having to interfere. Gaute Kalland hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. 19 minutes into the match, Karl Karlstad notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Sæter's Daniel Vetrhus. Daniel Vetrhus was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Daniel Vetrhus stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Espen Monge's shot from short distance in the 22nd minute. The Sæter fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Odin Nymo in the 40th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ruben Nordhaug saved Normanseng from getting behind. Martin Lid might have been able to make a better finish in the 42nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ruben Nordhaug. With a little luck, Normanseng's Ruben Nordhaug got control of the ball when Martin Lid tried to sneak it across the goal line. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Karl Karlstad made the kick off in the second half. Espen Monge might have been able to make a better finish in the 51st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Daniel Vetrhus. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. The supporters of Normanseng booed when Sæter was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. A collision led to Sæter getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Lars-Olav Midtgård hit a great ball. The audience was convinced that Odin Nymo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ruben Nordhaug was relentless in the 80th minute of the game. Sæter's supporters crossed their fingers, but Martin Lid was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Sæter fans cheered their team off the field, for while Normanseng had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
