If Morten Borgersen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 7 minutes, Joachim Ytreland mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Verdal FK and the 71° Up North players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 7 played minutes Verdal FK got a freekick which was hit by Joachim Ytreland. Morten Borgersen struck a weak shot in the 10th minute. Marius Bruheim didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Verdal FK. Gjermund Berre sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Joachim Ytreland kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. When Julian Drevland came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the 71° Up North fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Julian Drevland couldn't finish the play. In the 26th minute, Morten Borgersen got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Morten Borgersen recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 28th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Stein-Roger Ekeberg came up free with the goalie in the 29th minute, the Verdal FK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Stein-Roger Ekeberg couldn't finish the play. In the 32nd minute, Morten Borgersen got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 35th match minute, Verdal FK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Stein-Roger Ekeberg to maneuver through the defense. Rikard Foldnes charged in rather forcefully in the 38th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rikard Foldnes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Verdal FK booed when 71° Up North was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rikard Foldnes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Morten Borgersen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marius Bruheim having to interfere. Joachim Ytreland sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gjermund Berre received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Marius Bruheim tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jon-Egil Breistein stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Morten Borgersen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Morten Borgersen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 64th minute Gjermund Berre shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marius Bruheim saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Morten Borgersen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Marius Bruheim tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Morten Borgersen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marius Bruheim having to interfere. Stein-Roger Ekeberg's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Marius Bruheim read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 72nd minute of play. Verdal FK's Morten Borgersen got a good chance for a goal in the 73rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a little luck, 71° Up North's Marius Bruheim got control of the ball when Gjermund Berre tried to sneak it across the goal line. 71° Up North's defense didn't have a chance, in the 79th minute, when Gjermund Berre scored to the left of an out of position Marius Bruheim, making the score, 0-1. After having played for 84 minutes, Joachim Ytreland managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Verdal FK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Joachim Ytreland was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in 71° Up North's zone, Ole-Johan Joakimsen stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marius Bruheim came out of the goal and Ole-Johan Joakimsen tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Morten Borgersen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Marius Bruheim tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in 71° Up North's zone, Joachim Ytreland stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marius Bruheim came out of the goal and Joachim Ytreland tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Verdal FK played a much better game than 71° Up North and deserved their victory. The 71° Up North players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
