The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Verdal FK's Gjermund Berre got a good chance for a goal in the 4th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gjermund Berre in the 5th minute of play forced □□☆Langsandmo☆□□'s goalkeeper Tor-Arne Husøy to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 7th minute, Karsten Bu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 12th minute Karsten Bu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tommy Øvstedal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kiko Mbappè lost his temper 13 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. Kiko Mbappè hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. Gjermund Berre struck a weak shot in the 15th minute. Tor-Arne Husøy didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Verdal FK. 16 minutes into the match, Trym Thorsrud notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of □□☆Langsandmo☆□□'s Tor-Arne Husøy. Tor-Arne Husøy was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Verdal FK's Tommy Øvstedal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ramiro Salamon in the 20th minute of play. Ramiro Salamon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Tommy Øvstedal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 26 minutes into the match, Verdal FK's goal looked a bit too open when Ramiro Salamon came free, but Tommy Øvstedal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Verdal FK getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Morten Borgersen hit a great ball. □□☆Langsandmo☆□□'s Tor-Arne Husøy played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Trym Thorsrud in the 31st minute of play. Trym Thorsrud recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Verdal FK booed when □□☆Langsandmo☆□□ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Karsten Bu didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Verdal FK getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Ole-Johan Joakimsen hit a great ball. After 42 played minutes, □□☆Langsandmo☆□□'s Sturle Stranden shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Tommy Øvstedal came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in □□☆Langsandmo☆□□ reached it. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ramiro Salamon made a kick off. Joachim Ytreland struck a weak shot in the 51st minute. Tor-Arne Husøy didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Verdal FK. After 62 played minutes Verdal FK got a freekick which was hit by Trym Thorsrud. Karsten Bu took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 63rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Tommy Øvstedal. Verdal FK's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 65th minute Ramiro Salamon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tommy Øvstedal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tor-Arne Husøy made a fantastic save in the 70th minute, when Trym Thorsrud sent off a good shot on target. 75 minutes into the game, Arnstein Thorkildsen was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. □□☆Langsandmo☆□□'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Verdal FK the free kick. After a rather tough play, Verdal FK's Stein-Roger Ekeberg got a free kick in the 77th minute. With a little luck, □□☆Langsandmo☆□□'s Tor-Arne Husøy got control of the ball when Trym Thorsrud tried to sneak it across the goal line. A nice corner shot did that Christer Dalseth got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Tor-Arne Husøy quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 96 minutes into the match, Ove Gustavsson had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Tommy Øvstedal. Verdal FK's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ove Gustavsson was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-2. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. □□☆Langsandmo☆□□ were victorious despite being under pressure from Verdal FK for much of the match.
