Spectators: 8456 (Terracing: 6343, Seating: 1944, VIP seats: 169) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Oscar Lidal made the kick off which started today's match. Verner Sæle sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Halvor Rosenberg kicked well hit freekick during the 6th minute of the match. When Shankley-boys's Jimmy Schrøder in the 9th minute got a chance for a shot 9th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Flöistad's goalie prevented a goal. 11 minutes into the match, Flöistad's goal looked a bit too open when Verner Sæle came free, but Andreas Nyvoll reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ronny Melberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without John-Edvin Tangerud having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Shankley-boys's Hans Rokne got a free kick in the 18th minute. In the 20th minute, Halvor Rosenberg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Oscar Lidal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. John-Edvin Tangerud tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 27th minute of the match Flöistad got a corner. Shankley-boys's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Oscar Lidal ran over to the corner to take the kick. Alf-Inge Farstad tried to clear up in front of the goal, but didn't succeed and rather the ball rolled into the own goal to the right of a despaired John-Edvin Tangerud. An unnecessary self made goal, 1-0 in the 27th minute. Shankley-boys's John-Edvin Tangerud played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Oscar Lidal in the 31st minute of play. Ronny Melberg recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 45th minute, Ronny Melberg ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. John-Edvin Tangerud was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Verner Sæle stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute of the match Bjørn Røssland shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but John-Edvin Tangerud showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Ronny Melberg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Oscar Lidal in the 57th minute of play forced Shankley-boys's goalkeeper John-Edvin Tangerud to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Shankley-boys's John-Edvin Tangerud played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ronny Melberg in the 58th minute of play. Theodor Kjærvik's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Andreas Nyvoll read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 62nd minute of play. Flöistad's Ronny Melberg got a good chance for a goal in the 63rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. John-Edvin Tangerud took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Oscar Lidal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Ronny Melberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sebastian Salvesen kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. In the 77th minute of the match Oscar Lidal sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but John-Edvin Tangerud skillfully saved the ball. 81 minutes into the game, Verner Sæle was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Shankley-boys's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Flöistad the free kick. In the 82nd minute, Verner Sæle hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. John-Edvin Tangerud came out of the goal in the 84th minute to try and stop a shot by Flöistad's Ronny Melberg. But to his dismay, Ronny Melberg quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0. John-Edvin Tangerud showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Oscar Lidal, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute.
