After having played for 3 minutes, Roger Rogstad managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tromsdalen's supporters crossed their fingers, but Roger Rogstad was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 6th minute of the match, Roar Gjelsvik tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Jan-Frode Aukland saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After a rather tough play, Tromsdalen's Martin Benjaminsen got a free kick in the 7th minute. Roar Gjelsvik might have been able to make a better finish in the 9th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jan-Frode Aukland. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Roar Gjelsvik ran back to his position shaking his head. Øyvind Jordet hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. In the 14th minute Vetle Stensby shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mao Jun Xu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Byggda IL's Mao Jun Xu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Espen Reite in the 16th minute of play. 17 minutes into the match, Tromsdalen's goalkeeper Jan-Frode Aukland had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Simen Sæbø. Arnstein Worren sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Tromsdalen's Martin Ørbeck got a free kick in the 22nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Roger Rogstad in the 27th minute of play forced Byggda IL's goalkeeper Mao Jun Xu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tromsdalen's defense didn't have a chance, in the 28th minute, when Tormod Kristiansen scored to the left of an out of position Jan-Frode Aukland, making the score, 1-0. Martin Ørbeck charged in rather forcefully in the 44th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Martin Ørbeck the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 44th minute, Martin Ørbeck hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Roger Rogstad made the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Byggda IL's Saffet Onatkan got a free kick in the 51st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arnstein Worren in the 55th minute of play forced Tromsdalen's goalkeeper Jan-Frode Aukland to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mao Jun Xu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Roger Rogstad in the 63rd minute of the match. In the 80th minute the ball was on its way in behind Tromsdalen's goalkeeper Jan-Frode Aukland, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Joachim Høydahl received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Mao Jun Xu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Arnstein Worren in the 86th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jan-Frode Aukland saved Tromsdalen from getting behind. If Arnstein Worren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 90th minute, Tromsdalen's Roger Rogstad ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Mao Jun Xu. Mao Jun Xu yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. In the 93rd minute, Arnstein Worren hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Mao Jun Xu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Roger Rogstad, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
