Spectators: 8455 (Terracing: 6342, Seating: 1944, VIP seats: 169) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Eric Langen started the match with the kick off. Asmund Fosen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Raymond Frøland having to interfere. After 4 played minutes MCFC got a freekick which was hit by Johnnie Ekström. After a rather tough play, Low Expectations's Frode Alsaker got a free kick in the 7th minute. Fredrik Tronrud came free with the goalkeeper in the 10th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Heine Giese could save by the left post. Raymond Frøland stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Eric Langen's shot from short distance in the 13th minute. Raymond Frøland showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Robert Lind, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. A collision led to Low Expectations getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Stian Bratsberg hit a great ball. MCFC's Christoffer Aksnes got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 20 minutes into the game, MCFC's Eric Langen nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Raymond Frøland made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. When Espen Hestad fell near the penalty area in the 26th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored MCFC's protests and gave Espen Hestad a yellow card for diving instead. Johnnie Ekström charged in rather forcefully in the 29th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Johnnie Ekström the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Johnnie Ekström fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Raymond Frøland having to interfere. Raymond Frøland showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Andreas Karlsen in the 34th minute of the match. MCFC's Asmund Fosen got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 38th match minute, Low Expectations was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Stian Bratsberg to maneuver through the defense. 39 minutes into the match, Low Expectations's goal looked a bit too open when Andreas Karlsen came free, but Raymond Frøland reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Johnnie Ekström was shown his second yellow card after 41 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Johnnie Ekström hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. Fredrik Tronrud could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 44th minute of the match, but Heine Giese made a huge save. The crowd rose to their feet as Low Expectations's Daniel Aanstad slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Heine Giese. That made the score 1-1 after 45 minutes of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Daniel Aanstad made a kick off. After a rather tough play, Low Expectations's Frode Alsaker got a free kick in the 51st minute. 53 minutes into the match, Low Expectations's goalkeeper Raymond Frøland had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Asmund Fosen. Asmund Fosen struck a weak shot in the 55th minute. Raymond Frøland didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for MCFC. Asmund Fosen's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Raymond Frøland read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 58th minute of play. The supporters of MCFC booed when Low Expectations was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emil Mellem didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 62nd minute, Eric Langen ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Raymond Frøland was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. In the 66th minute, Asmund Fosen made a precise shot to the right of Raymond Frøland. Low Expectations's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-3. Robert Lind sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Eric Langen took the ball and in the 75 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Raymond Frøland. Raymond Frøland dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-4. Christoffer Aksnes kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. After having played for 80 minutes, Kasper Tonheim managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. MCFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kasper Tonheim was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 82 minutes into the match, Asmund Fosen notched a goal, 1-5, to the right of Low Expectations's Raymond Frøland. Raymond Frøland was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Asmund Fosen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Raymond Frøland having to interfere. If Asmund Fosen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 94th minute, Asmund Fosen left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The MCFC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-6. The Low Expectations fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. MCFC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
