Martin Skogstad showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from David Kanestrøm, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. Martin Skogstad came out of the goal in the 37th minute to try and stop a shot by Bergdal's Runar Økland. But to his dismay, Runar Økland quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Gjengstøen's Martin Skogstad played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Runar Økland in the 46th minute of play. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jørgen Log to strike the kick off in the second half. Martin Skogstad came out of the goal in the 53rd minute to try and stop a shot by Bergdal's Runar Økland. But to his dismay, Runar Økland quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. After a defensive mix-up in Gjengstøen's zone, Runar Økland stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Martin Skogstad came out of the goal and Runar Økland tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Ludvik Seim had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Asgeir Molvik in the 69th minute of play forced Gjengstøen's goalkeeper Martin Skogstad to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 73 minutes into the match, Gjengstøen's goalkeeper Martin Skogstad had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by André Askim. In the 75th minute Ludvik Seim shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Martin Skogstad saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 87th minute, Runar Økland got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Stig-Inge Amundsen kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. Martin Skogstad made an important save on a dangerous shot by Runar Økland in the 91st minute. Bergdal's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
