A throw-in in the 23rd minute of the game was made by Åsmund Lunde with Kent-Are Askeland as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. In the 37th minute of the game Roger Hoem made a throw-in which Kent-Are Askeland played forward. Fredrikstad FK's Raymond Stordal proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 40th minute of the match, managed to save Fredrikstad FK from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kent-Are Askeland in the 46th minute of play forced Fredrikstad FK's goalkeeper Raymond Stordal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Raymond Stordal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Roar Minde in the 48th minute of the match. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Kent-Are Askeland to strike the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes into the game, Roar Minde cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Raymond Stordal was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Halvor Engelund struck a weak shot in the 61st minute. Raymond Stordal didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Arsenal FC. Arsenal FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 69th minute, when William Bekkevold scored to the left of an out of position Beniamin Gregorczyk, making the score, 2-2. Roar Minde received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Raymond Stordal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 84th minute, Fredrikstad FK's Tormod Bjørgo ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Beniamin Gregorczyk. Beniamin Gregorczyk yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-3. Stig-Inge Midtun charged in rather forcefully in the 87th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Stig-Inge Midtun the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 87 played minutes Fredrikstad FK got a freekick which was hit by Stig-Inge Midtun. If Halvor Engelund had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
