An unexpectedly hard shot by Åsmund Lunde in the 24th minute of play forced Gjengstøen's goalkeeper Martin Skogstad to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Reidar Juell kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. When Roar Minde fell near the penalty area in the 26th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Arsenal FC's protests and gave Roar Minde a yellow card for diving instead. In the 27th minute, Roar Minde hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some careless play in the Gjengstøen defense, Alex Leithe kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Martin Skogstad. The Gjengstøen fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Martin Skogstad should have stopped the shot. In the 32nd minute, Gjengstøen's Jørgen Log dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. Martin Skogstad showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Roar Minde in the 38th minute of the match. Martin Skogstad took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gjøran Idsø, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gjøran Idsø in the 40th minute of play forced Gjengstøen's goalkeeper Martin Skogstad to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 46th minute Alex Leithe shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Martin Skogstad saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Alex Leithe made the kick off in the second half. In the 76th minute, Gjøran Idsø got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Alex Leithe fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Martin Skogstad having to interfere. With a little luck, Gjengstøen's Martin Skogstad got control of the ball when Halvor Engelund tried to sneak it across the goal line. Martin Skogstad was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Roar Minde showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-4 in the 82 minute of play.
