MCFC's Heine Giese proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 5th minute of the match, managed to save MCFC from getting a goal against them. The supporters of MCFC booed when Bergdal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ludvik Seim didn't get a good kick on the ball. Runar Økland received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Heine Giese tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Espen Hestad fell near the penalty area in the 23rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored MCFC's protests and gave Espen Hestad a yellow card for diving instead. If Runar Økland had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 34th minute, Runar Økland got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 35th match minute, Bergdal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ludvik Seim to maneuver through the defense. With his leg Heine Giese managed to avoid a goal in the 38thth minute, when Bergdal's Runar Økland fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. A collision led to Bergdal getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Niklas Ismail hit a great ball. In the 45th match minute, MCFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Johnnie Ekström to maneuver through the defense. Runar Økland could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 46th minute of the match, but Heine Giese made a huge save. Niklas Ismail kicked well hit freekick during the 48th minute of the match. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Runar Økland was the one to do the kick off. Heine Giese took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Runar Økland, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 85thth minute of the game Runar Økland who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but MCFC's Heine Giese was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 87th match minute, Bergdal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Storm Solvang to maneuver through the defense. Ruben Lima made a fantastic save in the 88th minute, when Eric Langen sent off a good shot on target. 89 minutes had been played when some careless play by Bergdal's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Rune Holter was slow to take the kick. During this time MCFC's players had a chance to rest. Asmund Fosen's late challenge caught a Bergdal's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Asmund Fosen helped the player get up and apologised. Asmund Fosen hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eric Langen in the 95th minute of play forced Bergdal's goalkeeper Ruben Lima to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ruben Lima showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eric Langen in the 96th minute of the match. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Bergdal fans cheered their team off the field, for while MCFC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
