After 4 played minutes Gjengstøen got a freekick which was hit by Tor-Henrik Skogen. In the 5th minute, William Bekkevold made a precise shot to the right of Martin Skogstad. Gjengstøen's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. The crowd rose to their feet as Tormod Bjørgo kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Martin Skogstad. That made the score 2-0 in the 10 minute of play. After 13 played minutes Fredrikstad FK got a freekick which was hit by Emil Langli. After a rather tough play, Fredrikstad FK's Tormod Bjørgo got a free kick in the 16th minute. In the 17th minute, Emil Langli hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 18 played minutes, Gjengstøen's Anders Mjøen shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Raymond Stordal came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Gjengstøen reached it. After a rather tough play, Fredrikstad FK's Tormod Bjørgo got a free kick in the 18th minute. Steinar Stein received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Martin Skogstad tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 24 minutes into the match, William Bekkevold dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Martin Skogstad, 3-0. Martin Skogstad was a little too slow when Tormod Bjørgo got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 28th minute. The score was now 4-0. After some careless play in the Fredrikstad FK defense, Jørgen Log kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Raymond Stordal. The Fredrikstad FK fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Raymond Stordal should have stopped the shot. William Bekkevold could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 38th minute of the match, but Martin Skogstad made a huge save. Martin Skogstad didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 39th minute, which inside left pole to 5-1. Martin Skogstad showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from William Bekkevold, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. In the 46th minute Jørgen Log shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Raymond Stordal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 5-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell William Bekkevold to make the kick off. 56 minutes into the match, Gjengstøen's goal looked a bit too open when Tormod Bjørgo came free, but Martin Skogstad reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Emil Langli fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Martin Skogstad having to interfere. Tormod Bjørgo scored 6-1 in the 61st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Martin Skogstad, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Martin Skogstad stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of William Bekkevold's shot from short distance in the 64th minute. 67 minutes into the match, Fredrikstad FK's Steinar Stein sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Martin Skogstad narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 69 minutes of play, Fredrikstad FK's Elias Saastad made it 7-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Martin Skogstad was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 77 played minutes Fredrikstad FK got a freekick which was hit by Mikolaj Kiepski. If Elias Saastad had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 84 minutes into the match, Gjengstøen's goal looked a bit too open when William Bekkevold came free, but Martin Skogstad reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Martin Skogstad made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emil Langli in the 85th minute of play. In the 90th minute of the game Tor-Henrik Skogen made a throw-in which Ferdinand Rusten played forward. After 95 minutes, Jørgen Log mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gjengstøen and the Fredrikstad FK players grew even worse after the yellow card. Jørgen Log hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. Fredrikstad FK walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
