Lars Nekstad showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mathias Tufte, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. In the 21st minute Rune Muggerud shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Inge Børresen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Through an outstanding action, after 28 minutes, Inge Børresen successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Rune Muggerud hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. 32 minutes into the match, Deknepollen's goal looked a bit too open when Rune Muggerud came free, but Inge Børresen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, Deknepollen's Inge Børresen got control of the ball when Kåre Breistein tried to sneak it across the goal line. Arty Benson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Inge Børresen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After recieving a nice pass, Kåsmolia's Kenneth Sommerseth tried to score from far away in the 39th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. 43 minutes into the game, Kåsmolia's Kåre Breistein nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Inge Børresen made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. Inge Børresen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rune Muggerud in the 46th minute of the match. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
After a defensive mix-up in Deknepollen's zone, Kåre Breistein stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Inge Børresen came out of the goal and Kåre Breistein tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Jimmy Tufte came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the Deknepollen fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jimmy Tufte couldn't finish the play. Tore Irgens's late challenge caught a Deknepollen's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tore Irgens helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Deknepollen getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Ragnar Skjolden hit a great ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Remigio Orlanda during the 63rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 64th minute, Pius Decorvet sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Kåsmolia's Lars Nekstad didn't even have to move. If Mathias Tufte had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 69 played minutes Deknepollen got a freekick which was hit by Jimmy Tufte. In the 71st match minute, Deknepollen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jørgen Vik to maneuver through the defense. If Mathias Tufte had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Deknepollen's Inge Børresen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kåre Breistein in the 80th minute of play. 83 minutes into the game, Jimmy Tufte was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player.
