Suleskard's Sebald Gentiletti proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 6th minute of the match, managed to save Suleskard from getting a goal against them. After some fancy dribbling in the 8th minute, Alf Nøttveit managed to get in a good position for a shot. Suleskard's supporters rose to their feet, but Alf Nøttveit was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Odd-Eirik Kronstad breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 10th minute Isaac Asimov shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sebald Gentiletti saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Odd-Eirik Kronstad took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lars Oftedal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Vebbestad defense, Rocky Ryland kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Odd-Eirik Kronstad. The Vebbestad fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Odd-Eirik Kronstad should have stopped the shot. Vebbestad's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Fidel Rami in the 27th minute. In the 30th minute, Lars Oftedal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alf Nøttveit in the 34th minute of play forced Vebbestad's goalkeeper Odd-Eirik Kronstad to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Odd-Eirik Kronstad showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alf Nøttveit, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. Odd-Eirik Kronstad stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Alf Nøttveit's shot from short distance in the 40th minute. Alf Nøttveit's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Odd-Eirik Kronstad read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 42nd minute of play. Lars Oftedal scored 1-2 in the 47th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Odd-Eirik Kronstad, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.

When Lars Oftedal came up free with the goalie in the 97th minute, the Suleskard fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lars Oftedal couldn't finish the play. The Suleskard supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Suleskard would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
