It was a penalty for Mike Ekoku Juniors! When the match had been going on for 25 minutes, Noordwolde SC's Tommie Kruijs got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Hubert Wel. John Stok recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 28th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Wilfred Gerfen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Tommie Kruijs had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Marcus de Witte managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mike Ekoku Juniors's supporters rose to their feet, but Marcus de Witte was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alex van der Leegte breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tommie Kruijs was the one to do the kick off.
