Spectators: 6701 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1701, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Nigel Teunissen started the match with the kick off. The supporters of Benedenheul booed when SC Telstar United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kristof de Zwaan didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jan-Peter Maseland fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Henk-Jan Traa having to interfere. After having played for 9 minutes, Jan-Willem Klooster managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Benedenheul's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jan-Willem Klooster was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jan-Peter Maseland sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 13th minute, one of SC Telstar United:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for SC Telstar United. The score was 1-0 after a penalty in the 15th minute, where Benedenheul:s Jacobus Boshuis tricked SC Telstar United:s Henk-Jan Traa with a difficult ball by the left post. Aad de Ridder fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jan Telkamp having to interfere. 24 minutes into the match, Benedenheul's goal looked a bit too open when Nigel Teunissen came free, but Jan Telkamp reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jacobus Boshuis walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. If Aad de Ridder had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nigel Teunissen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jan Telkamp having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Hans van Dartel during the 34th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 35 played minutes Benedenheul got a freekick which was hit by Hans van Dartel. When Jan-Willem Klooster came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Benedenheul fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jan-Willem Klooster couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Benedenheul getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Willem Jacobs hit a great ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

Ron Bouma hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. Diderik Dalmeijer, 54 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Henk-Jan Traa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ron Bouma, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. SC Telstar United's Henk-Jan Traa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jan-Peter Maseland in the 61st minute of play. Ron Bouma kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. Nigel Teunissen was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 65th minute. SC Telstar United's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Jan-Peter Maseland received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Henk-Jan Traa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Henk-Jan Traa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jan-Peter Maseland, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. 71 minutes into the game, Diderik Dalmeijer was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SC Telstar United's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Benedenheul the free kick. In the 71st minute, Diderik Dalmeijer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Diderik Dalmeijer hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, SC Telstar United's Sander Friebel got a free kick in the 80th minute. Nigel Teunissen recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 85 minutes, Nigel Teunissen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Telstar United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nigel Teunissen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Through an outstanding action, after 86 minutes, Jan Telkamp successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Jan Telkamp showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nigel Teunissen, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. Aad de Ridder could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 92nd minute of the match, but Jan Telkamp made a huge save. Nigel Teunissen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Jan Telkamp tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 94 played minutes SC Telstar United got a freekick which was hit by Sander Friebel. A collision led to SC Telstar United getting a freekick after 97 minutes play. Ferdinant Steffens hit a great ball. Jan-Peter Maseland fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 99th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Henk-Jan Traa having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Benedenheul had won after a very even match.
