Bas Bergman might have been able to make a better finish in the 12th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jan Hendrik Vennegoor. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Bas Bergman ran back to his position shaking his head. Tim Hesseling stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gregor Kooij's shot from short distance in the 15th minute. 16 minutes into the match, KS.OSS's Gregor Kooij sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Tim Hesseling narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Gregor Kooij received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Tim Hesseling tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Roland Theuws hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. After 33 minutes of play, KS.OSS's Gregor Kooij made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Tim Hesseling was left in no man's land by his defense there! A collision led to KS.OSS getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Roland Theuws hit a great ball. Bas Bergman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jan Hendrik Vennegoor having to interfere. Freek Rinzema received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Jan Hendrik Vennegoor tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When FC Amateurs's Freek Rinzema in the 44th minute got a chance for a shot 44th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye KS.OSS's goalie prevented a goal. The supporters of KS.OSS booed when FC Amateurs was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arjen Pander didn't get a good kick on the ball. When KS.OSS's Lennart van der Wiel, in the 47th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for KS.OSS. The FC Amateurs players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. KS.OSS were winning 0-1.

After a defensive mix-up in KS.OSS's zone, Freek Rinzema stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jan Hendrik Vennegoor came out of the goal and Freek Rinzema tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jan Hendrik Vennegoor showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bas Bergman, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. 1-1 became the score in the 69th minute when Freek Rinzema elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Bas Bergman recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of FC Amateurs booed when KS.OSS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lennart van der Wiel didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jan Hendrik Vennegoor came out of the goal in the 76th minute to try and stop a shot by FC Amateurs's Freek Rinzema. But to his dismay, Freek Rinzema quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. When the match had gone on for 79 minutes, Gregor Kooij put it in 2-2 from a short distance just to the right of Tim Hesseling. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gregor Kooij in the 84th minute of play forced FC Amateurs's goalkeeper Tim Hesseling to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 86th minute, Gregor Kooij got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of KS.OSS booed when FC Amateurs was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Michael Crans didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 95th minute, Freek Rinzema managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Amateurs's supporters rose to their feet, but Freek Rinzema was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jan Hendrik Vennegoor breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
