Kristof Holst charged in rather forcefully in the 8th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Kristof Holst the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. If Bernard de Rooy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Coos Aalst in the 18th minute of play forced Buitenhuizen VV's goalkeeper Frans Theissen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Allard Ottenhof charged in rather forcefully in the 21st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Allard Ottenhof the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Wittewerf booed when Buitenhuizen VV was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Allard Ottenhof didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 26 minutes, Elbert Sparnaaij mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Wittewerf and the Buitenhuizen VV players grew even worse after the yellow card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Wittewerf fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 25th minute. Penalty! Wittewerf's Gert Hofman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bernard de Rooy in the 31st minute of play. Bernard de Rooy took the ball and in the 34 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gert Hofman. Gert Hofman dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Frans Theissen was a little too slow when Dirk Jan Dalman got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 39th minute. The score was now 1-2. In the 46th minute, Elbert Sparnaaij hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Bernard de Rooy to strike the kick off in the second half. Bernard de Rooy had several of the Wittewerf's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 53 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-3 score and a disappointed Gert Hofman as he didn't even see the shot coming. In the 56th match minute, Wittewerf was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Elbert Sparnaaij to maneuver through the defense. Wittewerf's Coos Aalst got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Buitenhuizen VV's Alex Zorge got a free kick in the 73rd minute. In the 78th minute, Coos Aalst ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Frans Theissen was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-3. Frans Theissen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Coos Aalst, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. The supporters of Wittewerf booed when Buitenhuizen VV was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. René Schie didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Coos Aalst had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Arnout Hummel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Erik Ihselmann in the 94th minute of play forced Buitenhuizen VV's goalkeeper Frans Theissen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Wittewerf supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Buitenhuizen VV's performance. The match ended with a win for Buitenhuizen VV.
