Hanenberg HC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Donar FC the free kick. Hanenberg HC's Edwin Collen got a good chance for a goal in the 15th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 16 minutes into the match, Hanenberg HC's Daniël Rueda sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Eric Kramer narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 18th minute, Daniël Rueda managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hanenberg HC's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniël Rueda was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. After the first half Hanenberg HC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Daniël Rueda was the one to do the kick off. 53 minutes into the match, Donar FC's goalkeeper Eric Kramer had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Edwin Collen. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Daniël Rueda in the 54th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Eric Kramer prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Daniël Rueda received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
