The referee ignored Cadoelen's protests and gave Gijsbert Iepstra a yellow card for diving instead. In the 30th minute, one of Cadoelen:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Cadoelen. Toni van den Eede had in the 32ndth minute some difficulties stopping Derk Maurits's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. The supporters of Kilisspor booed when Cadoelen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emiel Koster didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Derk Maurits got free with Toni van den Eede in the 35th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After having played for 41 minutes, Ferdi Meppelink managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cadoelen's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ferdi Meppelink was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Anton Ubels had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Toni van den Eede made a fantastic save in the 43rd minute, when Matthijs Sturm sent off a good shot on target. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Matthijs Sturm to make the kick off. 61 minutes into the game, Ferdi Meppelink cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Marinus Eschendaal was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a defensive mix-up in Cadoelen's zone, Anton Ubels stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Matthijs Sturm sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 73rd minute, Marco Ginneken hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Anton Ubels fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Toni van den Eede having to interfere. Marcel Damen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Marinus Eschendaal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ferdi Meppelink in the 88th minute of play forced Kilisspor's goalkeeper Marinus Eschendaal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
