Pieter Schutrups sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Kristof Bos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fabiën van Basten took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mitchell Arnolds, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 33 minutes, Kristof Bos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Fc Genemuiden's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kristof Bos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Pieter Schutrups fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Demy Stühling having to interfere. If Marnix Schrage had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Kristof Bos came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the Fc Genemuiden fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kristof Bos couldn't finish the play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Pieter Schutrups stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Fc Genemuiden fully deserved thier win.
