After some fancy dribbling in the 5th minute, Dirk Jan Ieberink managed to get in a good position for a shot. Halen S.V.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Dirk Jan Ieberink was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Donny Kleinman breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Otto van Gaal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Donny Kleinman came out of the goal in the 6th minute to try and stop a shot by Halen S.V.'s Dirk Jan Ieberink. But to his dismay, Dirk Jan Ieberink quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Otto van Gaal recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 11th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dirk Jan Ieberink in the 12th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Donny Kleinman saved fc kerkrade from getting behind. Dirk Jan Ieberink could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 14th minute of the match, but Donny Kleinman made a huge save. Lennart Zoetebier made in the 15th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Halen S.V.'s Dick van Zwam. After 18 played minutes Halen S.V. got a freekick which was hit by Michael Wekenburg. In the 26th match minute, Halen S.V. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dirk Jan Ieberink to maneuver through the defense. Donny Kleinman stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dirk Jan Ieberink's shot from short distance in the 30th minute. Govert Sturkenboom showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hans Heijer in the 36th minute of the match. Govert Sturkenboom showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hans Heijer, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. In the 39th minute Otto Huizinga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Govert Sturkenboom saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 43 minutes into the match, Halen S.V.'s Dirk Jan Ieberink sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Donny Kleinman narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Kristof Nelissen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Govert Sturkenboom having to interfere. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Hans Heijer stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Otto van Gaal came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the Halen S.V. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Otto van Gaal couldn't finish the play. Kristof Nelissen hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. Kristof Nelissen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Govert Sturkenboom tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 59 minutes into the match, fc kerkrade's goal looked a bit too open when Dirk Jan Ieberink came free, but Donny Kleinman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dirk Jan Ieberink sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, fc kerkrade's Lennart Zoetebier got a free kick in the 73rd minute. 75 minutes into the match, Halen S.V.'s Marnix Schouten sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Donny Kleinman narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 75th minute, Dirk Jan Ieberink made a precise shot to the right of Donny Kleinman. fc kerkrade's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. In the 79th minute Dirk Jan Ieberink shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Donny Kleinman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to fc kerkrade getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Kristof Nelissen hit a great ball. Harald Neijsen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Govert Sturkenboom tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 89 minutes into the game, Halen S.V.'s Dirk Jan Ieberink nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Donny Kleinman made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. Halen S.V.'s Govert Sturkenboom proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 92nd minute of the match, managed to save Halen S.V. from getting a goal against them. In the 93rd match minute, Halen S.V. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dick van Zwam to maneuver through the defense. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Halen S.V. had played much better football throughout.
