In the 22nd minute, Peter Ooijer ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Sjaak Bot was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The wind increased when Edwin Lodewijks made the kick off in the second half. Stijn Terpstra made in the 54th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Rudolf Pik immediately put the ball in play.
