The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Go Ahead Eikels's Eddy Zielman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Henk van de Meerakker in the 3rd minute of play. Henk van de Meerakker fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eddy Zielman having to interfere. Bennie Aalst sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 17 minutes into the match, Stompwijk's goal looked a bit too open when Sjoerd Heesen came free, but Kristian Haas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Kristian Haas didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Go Ahead Eikels's Folkert Gerrits shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 0-1 in the ordered_time% minute. After a rather tough play, Go Ahead Eikels's Jan Bosstraeten got a free kick in the 22nd minute. The supporters of Stompwijk booed when Go Ahead Eikels was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Anthony Clarijs didn't get a good kick on the ball. Olof Niekamp took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 26th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Eddy Zielman. Go Ahead Eikels's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Eddy Zielman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Henk van de Meerakker in the 27th minute of play. In the 30th minute, one of Stompwijk:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Stompwijk. Go Ahead Eikels were awarded a corner in the 32th minute after Stompwijk's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Gregor van Asseldonk took the corner. Mathieu Trip was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. 35 minutes into the match, Stompwijk's goal looked a bit too open when Folkert Gerrits came free, but Kristian Haas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sjoerd Heesen recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, Folkert Gerrits managed to get in a good position for a shot. Go Ahead Eikels's supporters rose to their feet, but Folkert Gerrits was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kristian Haas breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Erben Bosman's late challenge caught a Go Ahead Eikels's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Erben Bosman helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Stompwijk getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Erben Bosman hit a great ball. Kristian Haas didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Sjoerd Heesen went, in the 47th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Folkert Gerrits to make the kick off. Folkert Gerrits fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kristian Haas having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sjoerd Heesen got free with Kristian Haas in the 58th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 58 minutes into the game, Hendrik-Jan Woering was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Stompwijk's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Go Ahead Eikels the free kick. After having played for 60 minutes, Sjoerd Heesen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Go Ahead Eikels's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sjoerd Heesen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a little luck, Stompwijk's Kristian Haas got control of the ball when Sjoerd Heesen tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 63rd minute, Sjoerd Heesen fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Kristian Haas, passed just outside the right post. Henk van de Meerakker fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eddy Zielman having to interfere. Sjoerd Heesen struck a weak shot in the 74th minute. Kristian Haas didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Go Ahead Eikels. In the 75th match minute, Stompwijk was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hendrik-Jan Woering to maneuver through the defense. 77 minutes into the game, Sjoerd Heesen cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Kristian Haas was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When Bennie Aalst came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the Stompwijk fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bennie Aalst couldn't finish the play. In the 90th minute, Olof Niekamp hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gregor van Asseldonk could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 91st minute of the match, but Kristian Haas made a huge save. Stompwijk's Henk van de Meerakker got a good chance for a goal in the 92nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The Go Ahead Eikels players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
