Bertus Degenkamp kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. Alfred Molenaar recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 48th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jan Hendrik Westerhof to make the kick off. After having played for 73 minutes, Marc van Putten managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Kippenpootjes's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marc van Putten was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience was convinced that Alfred Molenaar's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Laurens Hegeman was relentless in the 75th minute of the game.
