Spectators: 7432 (Terracing: 5575, Seating: 1709, VIP seats: 148) The Young Ones FC's Serge Arts started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Maurits van Basten came out of the goal in the 7th minute to try and stop a shot by Inter Traaie's Steven Schoenmakers. But to his dismay, Steven Schoenmakers quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. The Young Ones FC's Maurits van Basten played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fabiën Oosterhof in the 13th minute of play. In the 14th minute Jan-Joost van Zelst shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Klaas van Zijderveld saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fabiën Oosterhof received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Maurits van Basten tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 20 minutes into the match, The Young Ones FC's goalkeeper Maurits van Basten had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Kurt van der Schaaf. If Jan-Joost van Zelst had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fabiën Oosterhof received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Maurits van Basten tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Jan-Joost van Zelst had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Klaas van Zijderveld made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jan-Joost van Zelst in the 37th minute of play. The Young Ones FC's Jan-Joost van Zelst got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 43 minutes into the match, Inter Traaie's goal looked a bit too open when Serge Arts came free, but Klaas van Zijderveld reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Kurt van der Schaaf succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 2-0 in the 45th playminute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Fabiën Oosterhof to make the kick off. After having played for 54 minutes, Jan-Joost van Zelst managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. The Young Ones FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jan-Joost van Zelst was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Serge Arts who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 56thth minute tested the skills of Klaas van Zijderveld when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After 63 played minutes Inter Traaie got a freekick which was hit by Hubert Meurs. After having played for 69 minutes, Kurt van der Schaaf managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Inter Traaie's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kurt van der Schaaf was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 71st minute the ball was on its way in behind The Young Ones FC's goalkeeper Maurits van Basten, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Inter Traaie's Fabiën Oosterhof got a free kick in the 77th minute. Maurits van Basten showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kurt van der Schaaf, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. Maurits van Basten made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hubert Meurs in the 81st minute of play. Klaas van Zijderveld took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jan-Joost van Zelst, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 89 minutes, Jan-Joost van Zelst managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. The Young Ones FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jan-Joost van Zelst was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Maurits van Basten came out of the goal in the 91st minute to try and stop a shot by Inter Traaie's Fabiën Oosterhof. But to his dismay, Fabiën Oosterhof quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. Maurits van Basten didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Fabiën Oosterhof went, in the 96th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score. Inter Traaie were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of The Young Ones FC for a fine match.
