When Tom Cales fell near the penalty area in the 19th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Wacht's protests and gave Tom Cales a yellow card for diving instead. Diemerbrug's Roeland van der Werff couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 20th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Wacht. In the 22nd match minute, Wacht was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marcus Wielens to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Thijs Luijten in the 23rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jochem van Assen saved Wacht from getting behind. In the 28th minute, Thijs Luijten got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gertjan Bosman during the 29th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 29th minute, Gertjan Bosman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thijs Luijten sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Diemerbrug booed when Wacht was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tom Cales didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some careless play in the Wacht defense, Carsten Zimmer kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jochem van Assen. The Wacht fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jochem van Assen should have stopped the shot. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Carsten Zimmer stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Carsten Zimmer received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Jochem van Assen came out and tried to block the shot, but Carsten Zimmer slotted it home off the left post making it 0-3 in the 57th minute. 62 minutes into the match, Wacht's goal looked a bit too open when Carsten Zimmer came free, but Jochem van Assen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jochem van Assen stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Carsten Zimmer's shot from short distance in the 64th minute. After 66 minutes, Roeland Sybring made it 1-3 with a short kick to the right side. Diemerbrug's Roelof Heitinga tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Gerrit Das hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. Roeland van der Werff took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 76th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Jochem van Assen. Wacht's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 79th minute, Gerrit Das got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Thijs Luijten might have been able to make a better finish in the 81st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jochem van Assen. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Thijs Luijten ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 85thth minute of the game Carsten Zimmer who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Wacht's Jochem van Assen was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Diemerbrug's Carsten Zimmer got a good chance for a goal in the 89th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Henk-Jan Dost got free with Jochem van Assen in the 94th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
