Spectators: 6704 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1704, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Harald van Asten took the kick off in the first half of the match. After 3 minutes of play, Drimmelen HC's Coos Bakhuis made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Nick Barels was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a rather tough play, FC Eemdijk's Emile Zeeman got a free kick in the 10th minute. In the 17th minute Harald van Asten shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nick Barels saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gert Jan van Zomeren during the 17th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 18thth minute of the game Harald van Asten who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC Eemdijk's Nick Barels was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 19 played minutes FC Eemdijk got a freekick which was hit by Gert Jan van Zomeren. 24 minutes into the match, Coos Bakhuis notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of FC Eemdijk's Nick Barels. Nick Barels was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Emile Zeeman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Karel Korf having to interfere. 31 minutes into the game, Henk van Zwieten was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Drimmelen HC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Eemdijk the free kick. Gert Jan van Zomeren hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. If Harald van Asten had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. FC Eemdijk's Maurits Ploeger got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Emile Zeeman struck a weak shot in the 47th minute. Karel Korf didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Eemdijk. Karel Korf didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Emile Zeeman went, in the 48th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Emile Zeeman to make the kick off. Nick Barels made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Harald van Asten in the 56th minute of play. If Coos Bakhuis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 60th minute, Jan van der Haar managed to get in a good position for a shot. Drimmelen HC's supporters rose to their feet, but Jan van der Haar was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nick Barels breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 61 played minutes FC Eemdijk got a freekick which was hit by Sjoerd Blaauwgeers. Nick Barels showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jan Schie, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. Maurits Ploeger received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Karel Korf tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in FC Eemdijk's zone, Coos Bakhuis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nick Barels came out of the goal and Coos Bakhuis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Maurits Ploeger recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 70th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Drimmelen HC's Demy Bruinsma got a free kick in the 71st minute. Nick Barels stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Coos Bakhuis's shot from short distance in the 76th minute. Nick Barels made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Harald van Asten in the 79th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 82nd minute, Harald van Asten managed to get in a good position for a shot. Drimmelen HC's supporters rose to their feet, but Harald van Asten was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. After a rather tough play, FC Eemdijk's Rogier Witting got a free kick in the 83rd minute. 85 minutes into the match, FC Eemdijk's goal looked a bit too open when Coos Bakhuis came free, but Nick Barels reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Drimmelen HC getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Demy Bruinsma hit a great ball. With a little luck, Drimmelen HC's Karel Korf got control of the ball when Maurits Ploeger tried to sneak it across the goal line. Coos Bakhuis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Nick Barels tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gert van Driest charged in rather forcefully in the 96th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gert van Driest the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Drimmelen HC booed when FC Eemdijk was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gert van Driest didn't get a good kick on the ball. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Drimmelen HC had won after a very even match.
