Andy Wisgerhof helped the player get up and apologised. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 6th minute of the game. One of FC Volendam:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of AFC Amsterdam:s goal. FC Volendam:s Remco Stuijt showed great skill when he stopped Gert Jan de Backer:s penalty. 9 minutes into the match, Gert Jan de Backer had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Remco Stuijt. FC Volendam's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gert Jan de Backer was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 17th minute, Izaak Sturkenboom managed to get in a good position for a shot. AFC Amsterdam's supporters rose to their feet, but Izaak Sturkenboom was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Remco Stuijt breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Izaak Sturkenboom scored 0-2 in the 20th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Remco Stuijt, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Izaak Sturkenboom in the 25th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Remco Stuijt prevented the ball from getting in the gole. FC Volendam's Lucas Kolkman got a good chance for a goal in the 28th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 29 played minutes AFC Amsterdam got a freekick which was hit by Roeland Arts. Nigel Maurits sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 34 minutes, Gert Jan de Backer managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. AFC Amsterdam's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gert Jan de Backer was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Derk Ranzijn didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when FC Volendam's Nigel Maurits shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 1-2 in the ordered_time% minute. After 44 minutes, Hubert Ricksen mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Volendam and the AFC Amsterdam players grew even worse after the yellow card. AFC Amsterdam's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Volendam the free kick. The supporters of FC Volendam booed when AFC Amsterdam was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joeri Lucius didn't get a good kick on the ball. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Derk Ranzijn made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nigel Maurits in the 62nd minute of play. In the 64thth minute of the game Nigel Maurits who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but AFC Amsterdam's Derk Ranzijn was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 66 played minutes FC Volendam got a freekick which was hit by Roelof Heikens. FC Volendam's Oscar Brugmans got a good chance for a goal in the 77th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Derk Ranzijn took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nigel Maurits, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When FC Volendam's Nigel Maurits in the 94th minute got a chance for a shot 94th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye AFC Amsterdam's goalie prevented a goal. Pim van Loo kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match.
