Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Gertjan Huisman started the match with the kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Harold Vedder in the 6th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Herbert van Dongen prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gertjan Huisman during the 6th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 6th minute, Gertjan Huisman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jong Ajax were awarded a corner in the 8th minute after Kraaiven's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Harold Vedder took the corner. After some careless play in the Kraaiven defense, Bastiaan van der Aa kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Herbert van Dongen. The Kraaiven fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Herbert van Dongen should have stopped the shot. After 15 played minutes Kraaiven got a freekick which was hit by Gertjan Huisman. When Harold Vedder, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 18 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Herbert van Dongen was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. 20 minutes into the game, Bastiaan van der Aa cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Herbert van Dongen was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The audience was convinced that Harold Vedder's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Herbert van Dongen was relentless in the 23rd minute of the game. Sebastiaan Schaars received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Jaap Meijering tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 29th minute Harold Vedder shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Herbert van Dongen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 30thth minute of the game Harold Vedder who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Kraaiven's Herbert van Dongen was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Herbert van Dongen stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Harold Vedder's shot from short distance in the 32nd minute. In the 33rd match minute, Kraaiven was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Berend Bogarde to maneuver through the defense. Harold Vedder struck a weak shot in the 34th minute. Herbert van Dongen didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Jong Ajax. Herbert van Dongen didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Anton den Hertogh went, in the 36th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Harold Vedder in the 40th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Herbert van Dongen saved Kraaiven from getting behind. Sebastiaan Schaars charged in rather forcefully in the 44th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sebastiaan Schaars the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Jong Ajax made a substitution. Rudolf Alberts replaced Jean-Paul Zwaanswijk. After 45 minutes of play, Jong Ajax's Niels Kinear made it 0-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Herbert van Dongen was left in no man's land by his defense there! The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-4.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Harold Vedder to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Harris Zwartkruis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the match had gone on for 56 minutes, Harold Vedder put it in 0-5 from a short distance just to the right of Herbert van Dongen. In the 60th minute, Harris Zwartkruis got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. It seemed to be an obvious goal in the 62nd minute, but Herbert van Dongen got his fingers on the ball or the save, leaving Kraaiven hanging dry this time. Ernest Derks might have been able to make a better finish in the 67th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jaap Meijering. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ernest Derks ran back to his position shaking his head. A hard shot 69 in the game by Harold Vedder from a close distance when the talented Herbert van Dongen managed to make a qualified save. Kraaiven's players were relieved. After a rather tough play, Kraaiven's Ernest Derks got a free kick in the 72nd minute. Harold Vedder received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Herbert van Dongen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Kraaiven's zone, Harris Zwartkruis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Herbert van Dongen came out of the goal and Harris Zwartkruis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Bastiaan van der Aa did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 0-6 to the left of a surprised Herbert van Dongen 77 minutes into the match. Jong Ajax's Harold Vedder got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
