Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Pascal Booy kicked off to start the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 3rd minute, Geert Arend Numan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Oler's supporters rose to their feet, but Geert Arend Numan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ger Roelfs breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 5 minutes into the match, Varssel Eendracht's goal looked a bit too open when Henry Saenen came free, but Ger Roelfs reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 6 minutes into the game, Oscar Drok was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Varssel Eendracht's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Oler the free kick. Felix Baalman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 11 minutes into the match, Varssel Eendracht's goal looked a bit too open when Felix Baalman came free, but Ger Roelfs reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 13th minute, Oler's Felix Baalman dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. After 16 played minutes Varssel Eendracht got a freekick which was hit by Emil Oosterman. Emiel Eringa charged in rather forcefully in the 21st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Emiel Eringa the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Henry Saenen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ger Roelfs having to interfere. If Felix Baalman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The crowd rose to their feet as Oler's Felix Baalman slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Ger Roelfs. That made the score 3-0 after 32 minutes of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emil Oosterman in the 36th minute of play forced Oler's goalkeeper Henk Zwartkruis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bruno Reitsma took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 38th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Henk Zwartkruis. Oler's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. With a little luck, Varssel Eendracht's Ger Roelfs got control of the ball when Henry Saenen tried to sneak it across the goal line. Felix Baalman might have been able to make a better finish in the 44th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ger Roelfs. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Felix Baalman ran back to his position shaking his head. Mart Heikens fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ger Roelfs having to interfere.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Henry Saenen stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Geert Arend Numan during the 51st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Oler fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 50th minute. Penalty! The goalkeeper, Henk Zwartkruis, was totally fooled by Varssel Eendracht's Bruno Reitsma, who 52 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Felix Baalman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Ger Roelfs tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, Oler's Henk Zwartkruis got control of the ball when Emil Oosterman tried to sneak it across the goal line. Mart Heikens fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ger Roelfs having to interfere. Oler's Geert Arend Numan got his second yellow card of the match in the 63rd minute. The referee ordered Geert Arend Numan off the ground. Geert Arend Numan hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. Henry Saenen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Oscar Drok hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Varssel Eendracht's zone, Felix Baalman stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ger Roelfs came out of the goal and Felix Baalman tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ger Roelfs didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Henry Saenen went, in the 78th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-1 was the resulting score. In the 85th minute, Felix Baalman got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Henry Saenen recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Henry Saenen came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the Oler fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Henry Saenen couldn't finish the play. If Henry Saenen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Oler had played much better football throughout.
