He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Berk SC reached it. 18 minutes into the match, AFC Ajax's goal looked a bit too open when Willem Oldenborger came free, but Jeffrey Kolman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Willem Oldenborger received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Jeffrey Kolman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Willem Oldenborger fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jeffrey Kolman having to interfere. The supporters of AFC Ajax booed when Berk SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Godfried Brinke didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ricky Koops charged in rather forcefully in the 30th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ricky Koops the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. AFC Ajax's Jeffrey Kolman proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 38th minute of the match, managed to save AFC Ajax from getting a goal against them. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sjoerd Hoogland in the 41st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Bill Kikkert prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Jorn Opdam's late challenge caught a AFC Ajax's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jorn Opdam helped the player get up and apologised. In the 52nd match minute, Berk SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jorn Opdam to maneuver through the defense. Sjoerd Hoogland might have been able to make a better finish in the 55th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Bill Kikkert. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Berk SC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave AFC Ajax the free kick. In the 91st minute, Godfried Brinke made a precise shot to the right of Jeffrey Kolman. AFC Ajax's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. Berk SC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Ricky Koops in the 97th minute. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Berk SC had won after a very even match.
