Spectators: 7409 (Terracing: 5557, Seating: 1704, VIP seats: 148) Ronny Werner showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Robert-Jan Lammens in the 3rd minute of the match. Thanks to some nice moves Remco Rogaars could shoot a difficult shot in the 5th minute, which Arno van Steensel however easily saved by the left post. Klaas Nijemanting recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 9th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 13th minute Roland de Jong shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ronny Werner saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ronny Werner showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Robert-Jan Lammens, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. Lennart Blanc hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. 22 minutes into the match, Roland de Jong had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ronny Werner. DE RODE BOLIDE's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Roland de Jong was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Lennart Blanc during the 26th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 26 played minutes DE RODE BOLIDE got a freekick which was hit by Lennart Blanc. In the 29th minute, Robert-Jan Lammens made a precise shot to the right of Ronny Werner. DE RODE BOLIDE's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Ronny Werner made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Peter Riemers in the 33rd minute of play. If Remco Rogaars had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Remco Rogaars came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the DE RODE BOLIDE fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Remco Rogaars couldn't finish the play. If Lennart Blanc had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Klaas Nijemanting fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arno van Steensel having to interfere. After the first half Espele were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Bill Oortwijn made the kick off in the second half. Espele's Arno van Steensel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Remco Rogaars in the 58th minute of play. Arno van Steensel stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Lennart Blanc's shot from short distance in the 59th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lennart Blanc in the 62nd minute of play forced Espele's goalkeeper Arno van Steensel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Remco Rogaars's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Arno van Steensel read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 66th minute of play. Peter Riemers came free with the goalkeeper in the 69th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Ronny Werner could save by the left post. The audience thought a goal was coming when Robert-Jan Lammens got free with Ronny Werner in the 70th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 71st match minute, Espele was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Stephan Euving to maneuver through the defense. Remco Rogaars received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Arno van Steensel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Espele's zone, Lennart Blanc stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Arno van Steensel came out of the goal and Lennart Blanc tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Bill Oortwijn received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Arno van Steensel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 81st minute, Robert-Jan Lammens ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ronny Werner was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. After 86 minutes of play, DE RODE BOLIDE's Remco Rogaars made it 1-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Arno van Steensel was left in no man's land by his defense there! Joost Stevens fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arno van Steensel having to interfere. Klaas Nijemanting struck a weak shot in the 92nd minute. Arno van Steensel didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for DE RODE BOLIDE. After having played for 96 minutes, Bill Oortwijn managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. DE RODE BOLIDE's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bill Oortwijn was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Espele were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over DE RODE BOLIDE's much stronger midfield.
