But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Iwan Kruijs couldn't finish the play. Jens Blank sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Arno van Steensel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Iwan Kruijs, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. In the 21st minute Jens Blank shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arno van Steensel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 23rdth minute of the game Jens Blank who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Espele's Arno van Steensel was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Peter Riemers kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. Arno van Steensel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jens Blank, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Arno van Steensel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jens Blank in the 30th minute of play. Doezum HC's Geert Degeling played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Robert-Jan Lammens in the 65th minute of play. When the match clock showed 72 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Iwan Kruijs sped through Espele's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Arno van Steensel. Espele's Arno van Steensel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jens Blank in the 77th minute of play. 82 minutes into the match, Espele's goalkeeper Arno van Steensel had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Iwan Kruijs.
