Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Bjorn Smibum started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Ruud Vliet made a fantastic save in the 4th minute, when Jouke Naaijer sent off a good shot on target. Heerde V.V.'s Jouke Naaijer got a good chance for a goal in the 6th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 11th minute Kees Tellingen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ruud Vliet saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 12th minute, Klaus Brugmans hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ruud Vliet showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kees Tellingen, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. Michel Ridder scored 1-0 in the 21st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ruud Vliet, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Jouke Naaijer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 30 minutes into the match, Heerde V.V.'s Jouke Naaijer sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ruud Vliet narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Jouke Naaijer's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ruud Vliet read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 32nd minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jouke Naaijer got free with Ruud Vliet in the 36th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ruud Vliet showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kees Tellingen, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. If Jouke Naaijer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Overhoven Excelsior's Ruud Vliet proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 42nd minute of the match, managed to save Overhoven Excelsior from getting a goal against them. When Jean-Paul Erenstein fell near the penalty area in the 43rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Overhoven Excelsior's protests and gave Jean-Paul Erenstein a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Overhoven Excelsior's Jean-Paul Erenstein got a free kick in the 43rd minute. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Kees Tellingen made a kick off. Ruud Vliet stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Kees Tellingen's shot from short distance in the 53rd minute. After 54 played minutes Heerde V.V. got a freekick which was hit by Corné Kauffeld. 58 minutes into the match, Overhoven Excelsior's goal looked a bit too open when Timmie Wagenaar came free, but Ruud Vliet reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 66th minute, Jean-Paul Erenstein hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jouke Naaijer might have been able to make a better finish in the 69th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ruud Vliet. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jouke Naaijer ran back to his position shaking his head. Kees Tellingen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Ruud Vliet tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 78th match minute, Overhoven Excelsior was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Klaus Brugmans to maneuver through the defense. 85 minutes into the match, Kees Tellingen had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ruud Vliet. Overhoven Excelsior's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Kees Tellingen was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. Corné Kauffeld hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. In the 92nd minute, Kees Tellingen made a precise shot to the right of Ruud Vliet. Overhoven Excelsior's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-0. Overhoven Excelsior's Ruud Vliet played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kees Tellingen in the 96th minute of play. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Heerde V.V. fully deserved thier win.
