Spectators: 7491 (Terracing: 5619, Seating: 1723, VIP seats: 149) Ketel's Bennie Ponk started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 3 minutes into the match, Ketel's goalkeeper Rogier Hofman had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jan Lamberts. Bennie Ponk fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jacques Bruin having to interfere. When Clostridium Difficile's Gerjan van Zijp in the 11th minute got a chance for a shot 11th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ketel's goalie prevented a goal. The supporters of Ketel booed when Clostridium Difficile was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lex Hassel didn't get a good kick on the ball. Hans Tevreden received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Rogier Hofman came out and tried to block the shot, but Hans Tevreden slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 22nd minute. If Dave Bas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 30th minute, Dave Bas ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jacques Bruin was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. In the 38th minute, Bennie Ponk got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 40thth minute of the game Bennie Ponk who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Clostridium Difficile's Jacques Bruin was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Bennie Ponk recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gerjan van Zijp was the one to do the kick off. Tjeerd Spijkerman hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. Jacques Bruin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bennie Ponk in the 56th minute of the match. Jacques Bruin stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Bennie Ponk's shot from short distance in the 60th minute. In the 63rd match minute, Ketel was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dave Bas to maneuver through the defense. In the 69th match minute, Clostridium Difficile was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hans Tevreden to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jan Lamberts in the 71st minute of play forced Ketel's goalkeeper Rogier Hofman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 73 minutes into the match, Clostridium Difficile's Jan Lamberts sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rogier Hofman narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Rogier Hofman came out of the goal in the 74th minute to try and stop a shot by Clostridium Difficile's Gerjan van Zijp. But to his dismay, Gerjan van Zijp quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. A collision led to Ketel getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Edgard Vroom hit a great ball. In the 87th minute, Robbie Melker hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
