In the 5th minute, Japke Blank fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Arne van Zalen, passed just outside the right post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Japke Blank in the 7th minute of play forced Wezep FC's goalkeeper Arne van Zalen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gido Terpstra made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rein Meder in the 10th minute of play. Jurgen Dijken fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gido Terpstra having to interfere. But to his dismay, Jurgen Dijken quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. After 46 minutes, Mark Robbermond mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Wezep FC and the Deurne players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Wezep FC getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Mark Robbermond hit a great ball.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Japke Blank to make the kick off. Wezep FC's Arne van Zalen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Japke Blank in the 54th minute of play. Jos Wielaert sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match had gone on for 59 minutes, Rein Meder took a quick shot and it went in 0-2 without a chance for Gido Terpstra to make any attempt to save it. In the 67th minute, Japke Blank ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Arne van Zalen was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. Gido Terpstra made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jurgen Dijken in the 70th minute. Arne van Zalen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jos Wielaert, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute.
