After a defensive mix-up in FC Numitor's zone, Herbert van Gaal stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Co Zenden came out of the goal and Herbert van Gaal tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Uiteinde's Hans Hertog in the 12th minute got a chance for a shot 12th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye FC Numitor's goalie prevented a goal. In the 20th minute, Jurjen Bogarde had to leave the field with a concussion. 25 minutes into the match, Uiteinde's goalkeeper Folkert Ranzijn had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Joep Wensing. FC Numitor's Co Zenden played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Herbert van Gaal in the 27th minute of play. After some careless play in the FC Numitor defense, Hans Hertog kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Co Zenden. The FC Numitor fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Co Zenden should have stopped the shot. FC Numitor's Joep Wensing got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Gido Dirks took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 41st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Co Zenden. FC Numitor's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Hans Hertog sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Herbert van Gaal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Hans Hertog stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Herbert van Gaal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Co Zenden was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Herbert van Gaal showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-2 in the 60 minute of play. If Herbert van Gaal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hans Hertog in the 66th minute of play forced FC Numitor's goalkeeper Co Zenden to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Joep Wensing blasted a shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Folkert Ranzijn having to make a save. Hans Hertog sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 77th minute, Heiko Knops hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 81st minute, Rein Schreuder hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Hans Hertog received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Co Zenden tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Herbert van Gaal in the 93rdth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Co Zenden, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Herbert van Gaal recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 95th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Henk Maseland during the 96th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Henk Maseland kicked well hit freekick during the 97th minute of the match. Hans Hertog fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 98th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Co Zenden having to interfere. Uiteinde played a much better game than FC Numitor and deserved their victory. The FC Numitor players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
