The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd minute, Emiel Klasen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Derk Elst showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eelco Steyns in the 8th minute of the match. 11 minutes into the match, Kloetinge Asg's goal looked a bit too open when Eelco Steyns came free, but Derk Elst reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jasper Nijemanting recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 16th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. POWERPLAY's Jasper Nijemanting suffered a sore thigh after 16 minutes and couldn't finish the game. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nathan Hansma during the 17th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Roelof Zegeling showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Martin Haken in the 20th minute of the match. After some careless play in the POWERPLAY defense, Martin Haken kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Roelof Zegeling. The POWERPLAY fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Roelof Zegeling should have stopped the shot. 32 minutes into the match, Ralph Stekelenburg had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Roelof Zegeling. POWERPLAY's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ralph Stekelenburg was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-4. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ralph Stekelenburg in the 38th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Roelof Zegeling saved POWERPLAY from getting behind. 46 minutes into the match, POWERPLAY's goal looked a bit too open when Ralph Stekelenburg came free, but Roelof Zegeling reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ralph Stekelenburg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Eelco Steyns made a kick off. In the 56thth minute of the game Ralph Stekelenburg who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but POWERPLAY's Roelof Zegeling was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. POWERPLAY's Roelof Zegeling played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ralph Stekelenburg in the 58th minute of play. 63 minutes into the match, POWERPLAY's goal looked a bit too open when Ralph Stekelenburg came free, but Roelof Zegeling reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 64th minute, Meindert van Zwam managed to get in a good position for a shot. Kloetinge Asg's supporters rose to their feet, but Meindert van Zwam was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Roelof Zegeling breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Martin Haken struck a weak shot in the 65th minute. Roelof Zegeling didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Kloetinge Asg. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Timmie Wesveld during the 72nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 72nd match minute, POWERPLAY was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Timmie Wesveld to maneuver through the defense. Timmie Wesveld was shown his second yellow card after 74 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After 74 played minutes POWERPLAY got a freekick which was hit by Timmie Wesveld. If Ralph Stekelenburg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in POWERPLAY's zone, Maurice de Witte stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Roelof Zegeling came out of the goal and Maurice de Witte tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 86 minutes into the game, Ralph Stekelenburg lined in a short shot 0-6 behind a frustrated Roelof Zegeling. Roelof Zegeling was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Ralph Stekelenburg showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-7 in the 91 minute of play. Hans Nieuwendijk blasted a shot towards the goal in the 98th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Roelof Zegeling having to make a save.
