After 3 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for SCK 1961! Jelle Dissels showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Roland Daamen in the 9th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Stijn Schophuis in the 11th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jelle Dissels prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 11 minutes into the game, Ronald Schut was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SCK 1961's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cruquius HC the free kick. Stijn Schophuis took the ball and in the 15 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jelle Dissels. Jelle Dissels dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stijn Schophuis in the 19th minute of play forced SCK 1961's goalkeeper Jelle Dissels to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Roland Daamen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Jelle Dissels tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Anton Oldenborger received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Mark Kleinman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Anton Oldenborger's late challenge caught a Cruquius HC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Anton Oldenborger helped the player get up and apologised. If Sjef Nieuwburg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sjef Nieuwburg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Mark Kleinman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The SCK 1961 players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Cruquius HC were winning 0-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Roland Daamen to make the kick off. SCK 1961's Jelle Dissels proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 71st minute of the match, managed to save SCK 1961 from getting a goal against them. SCK 1961's Jelle Dissels played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Elco Hillen in the 72nd minute of play. Stijn Schophuis took the ball and in the 75 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jelle Dissels. Jelle Dissels came out of the goal in the 82nd minute to try and stop a shot by Cruquius HC's Stijn Schophuis. But to his dismay, Stijn Schophuis quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. After some fancy dribbling in the 85th minute, Stijn Schophuis managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cruquius HC's supporters rose to their feet, but Stijn Schophuis was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jelle Dissels breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The crowd rose to their feet as Cruquius HC's Stijn Schophuis slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Jelle Dissels. That made the score 0-5 after 87 minutes of play. The SCK 1961 supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Cruquius HC's performance. The match ended with a win for Cruquius HC.
