Westbroek HC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Klaas van Fessum was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. In the 6th minute, Westbroek HC's Chris Schoonbeek ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Alfred Sloothaak. Alfred Sloothaak yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. With an all-out effort, Westbroek HC's Alfred Sloothaak threw himself towards the right post 15 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Chris Schoonbeek, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 17 minutes into the match, Heusden Eendracht's goal looked a bit too open when Chris Schoonbeek came free, but Alfred Sloothaak reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 19th match minute, Westbroek HC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fred Brugmans to maneuver through the defense. Jacques Evenhuis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 26 minutes into the match, Heusden Eendracht's goalkeeper Alfred Sloothaak had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nico-Jan van Zeggeren. Hans-Cees Kleefstra fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hans van Dessel having to interfere. Bertus van den Akker's late challenge caught a Heusden Eendracht's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bertus van den Akker helped the player get up and apologised. In the 35th match minute, Westbroek HC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bertus van den Akker to maneuver through the defense. When Nico-Jan van Zeggeren came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the Westbroek HC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nico-Jan van Zeggeren couldn't finish the play. Klaas van Fessum fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hans van Dessel having to interfere. Heusden Eendracht's Alfred Sloothaak played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Chris Schoonbeek in the 47th minute of play. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jacques Evenhuis to make the kick off. Alfred Sloothaak made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nico-Jan van Zeggeren in the 55th minute of play. Bart Sleiffer kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. Alexander Spiljard hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. Alfred Sloothaak took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nico-Jan van Zeggeren, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 63rd minute, Jacques Evenhuis fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Hans van Dessel, passed just outside the right post. The supporters of Westbroek HC booed when Heusden Eendracht was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bart Sleiffer didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jacques Evenhuis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Hans van Dessel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 67 minutes into the game, Heusden Eendracht's Klaas van Fessum nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Hans van Dessel made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. Westbroek HC's Chris Schoonbeek got a good chance for a goal in the 71st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Heusden Eendracht booed when Westbroek HC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alexander Spiljard didn't get a good kick on the ball. After recieving a nice pass, Heusden Eendracht's Dolf Wikenburg tried to score from far away in the 78th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Westbroek HC's Hans van Dessel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jacques Evenhuis in the 80th minute of play. Nico-Jan van Zeggeren received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Alfred Sloothaak tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Chris Schoonbeek had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Nico-Jan van Zeggeren sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Klaas van Fessum fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hans van Dessel having to interfere. A collision led to Westbroek HC getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Jan Baalman hit a great ball. The Heusden Eendracht players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
