FC Ballenbak's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Gorce FC the free kick. A collision led to FC Ballenbak getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Roy Boshuis hit a great ball. Stefan Melis's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Hans Frankena read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 15th minute of play. In the 16th minute, Karsten Veentjer got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The attack was good, but when Karsten Veentjer in the 18th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Karel Janssens made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rudolf Robbermond in the 20th minute of play. Mark Werner charged in rather forcefully in the 21st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Mark Werner the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 21st minute, one of Gorce FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Gorce FC. Karel Janssens showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rudolf Robbermond, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. Karel Janssens took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Karsten Veentjer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Karel Janssens made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rudolf Robbermond in the 38th minute of play. In the 39th minute, Stefan Melis got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Hans Frankena made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Guus van der Struijk in the 43rd minute of play. Stefan Melis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Guus van der Struijk was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rudolf Robbermond in the 54th minute of play forced Gorce FC's goalkeeper Karel Janssens to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gorce FC's Karel Janssens played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rudolf Robbermond in the 55th minute of play. Leendert Craandijk hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. In the 60th minute, Karsten Veentjer ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Karel Janssens was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-4. 67 minutes into the match, Gorce FC's goalkeeper Karel Janssens had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Karsten Veentjer. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rudolf Robbermond in the 68th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Karel Janssens saved Gorce FC from getting behind. When Guus van der Struijk came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the Gorce FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Guus van der Struijk couldn't finish the play. In the 79th minute, Karsten Veentjer got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Through an outstanding action, after 84 minutes, Karel Janssens successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After some fancy dribbling in the 87th minute, Karsten Veentjer managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Ballenbak's supporters rose to their feet, but Karsten Veentjer was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Karel Janssens breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. FC Ballenbak's Karsten Veentjer got a good chance for a goal in the 91st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 96 played minutes, Gorce FC's Jan Hendrik Steelman shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Hans Frankena came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Gorce FC reached it. When the match was over FC Ballenbak could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Gorce FC throughout the match.
