Jacobus Fokkelman might have been able to make a better finish in the 4th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Karel Janssens. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jacobus Fokkelman ran back to his position shaking his head. Leendert Werner's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 9thth minute, Derk Dissels skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Guus van der Struijk in the 10th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Derk Dissels saved Ommoord from getting behind. Stefan Melis could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 11th minute of the match, but Derk Dissels made a huge save. The supporters of Ommoord booed when Gorce FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hans Schirring didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 15th minute of the match Folkert Israel sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Karel Janssens skillfully saved the ball. When Stefan Melis came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the Gorce FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Stefan Melis couldn't finish the play. Dennis Wiarda hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Gorce FC's zone, Jacobus Fokkelman stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Karel Janssens came out of the goal and Jacobus Fokkelman tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 34 minutes into the game, Godfried Duin was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ommoord's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Gorce FC the free kick. In the 35th minute, Guus van der Struijk reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Derk Dissels. The goal made the score 1-0. Gorce FC's Stefan Melis got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 43 minutes into the match, Ommoord's goal looked a bit too open when Guus van der Struijk came free, but Derk Dissels reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 44 minutes, Stefan Melis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gorce FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Stefan Melis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 48 minutes into the match, Ommoord's goal looked a bit too open when Guus van der Struijk came free, but Derk Dissels reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

52 minutes into the match, Rudi Kik notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Gorce FC's Karel Janssens. Karel Janssens was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 56th minute, Rudi Kik reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Karel Janssens. The goal made the score 1-2. Derk Dissels stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Stefan Melis's shot from short distance in the 59th minute. Ommoord's Derk Dissels played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Humberto Rooze in the 60th minute of play. Guus van der Struijk received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Derk Dissels tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 65th minute Guus van der Struijk shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Derk Dissels saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Derk Dissels took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Guus van der Struijk, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match had gone on for 72 minutes, Guus van der Struijk put it in 2-2 from a short distance just to the right of Derk Dissels. In the 78th match minute, Ommoord was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rolf Warneke to maneuver through the defense. After 79 played minutes, Gorce FC's Rik Vedder shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Derk Dissels came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Gorce FC reached it. Gorce FC's Rik Vedder couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 81st minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Ommoord. After 83 minutes, Stefan Melis made it 4-2 with a short kick to the right side. Ommoord's Derk Dissels tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Stefano Blanc kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. 90 minutes into the game, Gorce FC's Guus van der Struijk nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Derk Dissels made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-2. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Gorce FC had played much better football throughout.
