Spectators: 6730 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1730, VIP seats: 0) Corné Roewen started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Soestdijk Eendracht's Rein Kip played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Elco de Zee in the 3rd minute of play. In the 5th match minute, Soestdijk Eendracht was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Oliver Mosselveld to maneuver through the defense. Esch V.V.'s Elco de Zee got a good chance for a goal in the 7th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Rein Kip came out of the goal in the 9th minute to try and stop a shot by Esch V.V.'s Elco de Zee. But to his dismay, Elco de Zee quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. 12 minutes into the game, Corné Roewen was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Soestdijk Eendracht's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Esch V.V. the free kick. In the 13th minute the ball was on its way in behind Soestdijk Eendracht's goalkeeper Rein Kip, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Corné Roewen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Corné Roewen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Stefano Meijeringh tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rein Kip took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Elco de Zee, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jan-Joost Hagenouw hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. Hendrik van Zijp fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stefano Meijeringh having to interfere. Corné Roewen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Stefano Meijeringh tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 27th match minute, Esch V.V. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ed Cardinaal to maneuver through the defense. 30 minutes into the match, Esch V.V.'s goalkeeper Stefano Meijeringh had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Hendrik van Zijp. In the 35th minute, René Veldhuis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 39 minutes into the game, Marcel Apotheker cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Rein Kip was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Elco de Zee stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes into the match, Soestdijk Eendracht's goal looked a bit too open when Elco de Zee came free, but Rein Kip reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 56 minutes, Marcel Apotheker managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Esch V.V.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Marcel Apotheker was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Soestdijk Eendracht's Philip Senden got a free kick in the 59th minute. Rein Kip showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Elco de Zee, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. If Corné Roewen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 66th minute, Hendrik van Zijp got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 68 minutes into the match, Esch V.V.'s goal looked a bit too open when Corné Roewen came free, but Stefano Meijeringh reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Marcel Apotheker blasted a shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rein Kip having to make a save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Elco de Zee in the 71st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rein Kip saved Soestdijk Eendracht from getting behind. After having played for 81 minutes, Marcel Apotheker managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Esch V.V.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Marcel Apotheker was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Marcel Apotheker had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 90 played minutes Esch V.V. got a freekick which was hit by Ed Cardinaal. Stefano Meijeringh showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Corné Roewen in the 93rd minute of the match. 96 minutes into the game, Elco de Zee lined in a short shot 0-4 behind a frustrated Rein Kip. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Esch V.V. walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
