Vincent Verweijen hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. Timo Heuving's late challenge caught a Tergracht SC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Timo Heuving helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Tergracht SC booed when Hofke was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Timo Heuving didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rafael Panter got free with Joost Arts in the 20th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 23 played minutes Hofke got a freekick which was hit by Gilbert Hoffhuis. Dave van der Meijde was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 23rd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Max Ploeger in the 34th minute of play forced Hofke's goalkeeper Johan Snijders to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gerard Vos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Johan Snijders having to interfere. Hofke's Rafael Panter got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Tergracht SC's Joost Arts proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 40th minute of the match, managed to save Tergracht SC from getting a goal against them. Rafael Panter received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Joost Arts tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Floris Landzaat had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Floris Landzaat sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ferdinant Bergman hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. 68 minutes into the match, Tergracht SC's goal looked a bit too open when Rafael Panter came free, but Joost Arts reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rafael Panter received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Joost Arts tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 77th minute, Gilbert Hoffhuis managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hofke's supporters rose to their feet, but Gilbert Hoffhuis was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Joost Arts breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
